We carry out a complete turfing solution, from installing new lawn areas, to replacing old lawns with a healthy new look for your garden.
We source the highest quality turf from local suppliers, and always provide help and advice on the aftercare of your new lawn once complete.
The process of preparing the area and laying turf is quite complex. There are many factors to think about which can effect the health and lifespan of a new lawn, from the soil quality and surroundings to light exposure. We understand these factors and use our experience and knowledge, in order to prepare the area to the highest standards and provide you with a healthy foundation for your lawn to thrive.
Our process includes:
- Grounds work: Removal of old lawns, levelling areas and applying new quality top soil.
- Soil preparation: Soil aeration and drainage and the use of high quality fertiliser, that is applied before laying any turf
- Turf laying: The turf is then installed and watered.
Aftercare Advice:
- Once your lawn has been laid you must avoid contact with the turf for the first 28 days, keep children and pets away from the area and only walk on the turf if absolutely necessary. As in the early stages of growth, the turf is most vulnerable and can easily be damaged, within this period the turf is not yet established and disturbance can cause issues with the appearance of the turf and its growth.
- It is important to keep your new lawn watered. We would recommend watering using a sprinkler (We have these in stock) on an evening after sunset, and allow the lawn to become saturated. A good indication as to whether the lawn has received sufficient water is to lift a corner of the turf and check the water has penetrated through into the topsoil. We recommend watering the turf until it is fully established.
- Then you can mow the new lawn after approx 28 days have passed. In order to minimise disturbance we recommend using the highest setting on your lawn mower. Due to the quality of turf we use, and the fertiliser that is applied before laying, no other treatments will be required on the lawn for at least 12 months.
